Certificate Program Related Questions

Who should register for the Certificate programs?

The Foundations for Biblical Ministry Certificate program is designed for anyone who wants to learn and grow in the Christian faith, prepare to serve in a leadership role, and to share their faith with others.

The Bible Journey Certificate program is a comprehensive curriculum that covers the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation. It is ideal for those who want to deepen their Bible knowledge and engagement, or for those who are interested in teaching Bible studies.

How long will it take me to complete a Certificate program?

Since these are self-paced programs, the length of time depends on the individual’s own time commitment.

  • The Foundations for Biblical Ministry Certificate consists of 16 courses that can be completed in 12-15 months.
  • The Bible Journey Certificate consists of 45 courses that can be completed in 2 years.

How do I find a Learning Mentor?

We recommend that you ask your pastor or a leader within your church or faith community. The Learning Mentor should be someone whom you trust, who shares your beliefs, and who can guide you based on their experience and knowledge.

What are the responsibilities of the Learning Mentor?

The Learning Mentor should commit to meeting with you twice during each course (once at the beginning and once at the end). They are a conversation partner for you as you set your learning goals and process what you are learning. They are also your accountability partner who will encourage you to commit to apply what you are learning in your own spiritual life and in your life of service to others.

What is the Learning Group and do I have to participate in it?

The Learning Group is a discussion forum for learners participating in the Certificate program. This is a place where you can post questions, encourage fellow Christians, and learn from their perspectives and experiences. The Learning Group is optional and not a requirement for completion.

How do the Certificate programs differ from the Learning Paths?

The Certificate program is a coherent curriculum that has been developed to achieve specific learning objectives. Learning Paths are groups of courses that relate to a common topic. A certificate will not be available for completion of a Learning Path.
